An independent investigation of sport environment and health in Swedish figure skating was carried out in 2020, assigned by the Swedish Figure skating association. The aim of the investigation was due to previous reports on non-accidental violence (emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), mental health problems, problems related to weight and shape as well as menstrual dysfunctions along with code of silence and other problems related to sport climate. The results indicate high prevalence non-accidental violence along with reported mental health problems, comments on weight and shape, menstrual dysfunctions, injuries, and a profound code of silence. The results also indicated that the skaters reported great passion for their sport, for its many challenges, physical and artistic.
