What is telepsychology?
Telepsychology is the provision of behavioral and mental health care services using technological modalities in addition to face-to-face therapy. This means that assessment, counseling, and psychological treatment with CBT takes place via video link (so-called telemedicine/telehealth). This means that you meet Dr. Klara Edlund online, either integrated in an already ongoing treatment (e.g., when you are unable to come into the office for a face-to-face session) or you carry out the entire treatment online. Telepsychology increases the accessibility for you, reduces travel costs and makes your contact more time efficient as you can meet Dr. Edlund wherever your location in the world is at the time. There are a limited number of evening and weekend appointments (time zone GMT+1) reserved for clients in other time zones. Telepsychology increases the integrity of your privacy as you do not encounter other people at the office.
The highest possible security for all the work that is carried out has been established, this applies to both personal and digital meetings. Current laws for confidentiality in healthcare also apply to telepsychology, i.e. conversations and psychological treatment via video link. The system used is HIPAA compliant, which is standard in health care in the United States to protect sensitive data. No other part can take part of your information or your conversation. This contrasts with non-HIPAA compatible video calling systems such as Skype and FaceTime.

The system used currently has over 10,000 users, primarily in the USA, but also in Sweden and England. Among the users are e.g., hospitals, psychotherapy clinics and universities. According to HIPAA, the system must constantly undergo risk analyzes and development, which means that the system is under constant review and evaluation.
